In the Name of God Amen I Richard Kingwill of the Parish of Ugborough and County of Devon Yeoman Do Hereby make and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say) first of all and Chiefest of all I reccommend my soul unto Almighty God my Maker trusting in and through the alone merits of Jesus Christ my Blessed Saviour and Redeemer to Inherit Eternal Life and my Body to Christian Burial to be Buried in such Decent manner as my Wife may think fit and convenient astouching all such Worldly goods at it hath pleased God to bestow upon me I give Devise and Bequeath all the same as follows. I give and Bequeath unto my Son Richard the sum of five pounds of good and lawfull money of Great Brittain to be raised out of my Goods and Chattels and to be paid unto him at the end of one year next after my Decease Also, I Give and Bequeath unto Ann my belowed wife all that my Dwelling House in Ugborough Town where I now live with all the appurtenances Privileges and advantages unto the same belonging for and during the term of her Natural Life to Have and to Hold the same as long as she may fortune to live she paying and discharging all such outgoings as may from time to time be charged thereon, Also keeping the said Dwelling House and Premisses in good and tenantable repair and from and after the Death and decease of my said Wife I give and Bequeath the said Dwelling House and Premisses before mentioned unto my Son Samuel for all the then remainder of my Right and Interest that may then be to come and unexpired he paying the outings and keeping the same in good Repair - But if my Son Samuel should fortune to Die while my Right and Interest in the same may continue Then in that case I give and bequeath the said Dwelling House and Premisses above mentioned unto my Son Isaac for all the remainder of my Right and interest that may be to come and unexpired at the Death of my Son Samuel He also paying and discharging all out-goings and keeping the same in good repair

Also I give and Bequeath unto my Son Thomas all that my field called Broad Park for and during the Term of his natural Life He Paying all outgoings that may charged on the same to Have and to hold the said field called Broad Park being situate by the side of the lane leading from Peekmill to the Cross of the hand in the said Parish of Ugborough and also to his Child or Children But if my Son Thomas should fortune to Die and leave no Child or Children while my right and Interest in and to the said field may continue then in that case I give and bequeath from after the Death and decease of him my Son Thomas and his Child or Children all the said field called Broad park unto my son John and his Child or Children for all the then remainder of my Right and Interest that may be then to come and unexpired at the Death an decease of him my said Son Thomas & his Children But if my son John shall fortune to Die and leave no Child or Children Then in that case I give and bequeath all the before mentioned field called Broad Park unto my Son Isaac for all the remainder of my Right and Interest that may be then to come and unexpired at the Death and decease of him my Son John

Also I give and bequeath unto my Son Adam all these my two fields at Hookmoor in Ugborough called or known by the name of Gullets Ground to have and to hold the same for and so long as my right and Interest may or shall continue thereon

Also I give and Bequeath unto my Son John the sum of twenty Pounds of good and Lawfull money of Great Brittain to be Raised out of my field at at Toppy Cross and to be paid unto my Son John an the end of three years next after my Decease

Also I give Devise and Bequeath unto my Sons Samuel and Isaac all that my field of Land called Toppy Cross field being situate at Toppy Cross aforesaid in the Parish of Ugborough and County aforesaid to Have and to Hold the said field with all and every the appurtenances Privileges and advantages unto the same belonging unto themselves and their Heirs and assigns for ever with all the Remainder and Remainders Rents and Services for Evermore Subject Netherless to the Payment of the said Sum of twenty Pounds unto my said Son John as is before explained

Also I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Mary Hodge Widow the Sum of Two Pounds of good and Lawfull money to be raised out of my goods and Chattels and to be paid unto her at the end of One year next after my decease Likewise I Give and Bequeath unto my said Daughter Mary that Part of my Dwelling House at Parsonage in Ugborough where Sarah Brooking now lives as tenant to Have and to Hold the said Part of the said Dwelling House for and so long as my Right and Interest in and to the same shall or may continue the Paying and discharging the one half of such outgoings as may from time to time be charged thereon and also keeping that part in good and Tenantable repair

Also I give and Bequeath unto my daughter Sarah all that other Part of my said Dwelling House at Parsonage where John Long now lives as Tenant to Have and to Hold that part of the said Dwelling House for and so long as my Right and Interest in and to the same shall or may continue She paying and discharging the other half of all such outgoings as may from time to time be charged there on and also Keeping that part in good and Tenantable repair, and my Will and meaning is and I Do Hereby Direct and appoint that the Roof directly over the partition shall be repaired by and between my two Daughters Mary and Sarah and the expense born and paid by them by equal Shares and Portions and I direct and appoint my Wife to be the guardian in Trust for my Daughter Sarah until She shall have attained her full Age of Twenty One years and in her Name and Stead to ask for demand and receive all such Rent as from time to time becomes due which said Cash so received Shall be Paid (after deducting all sorts of outgoings that may happen) unto my Daughter Sarah when she arrives at the Age of twenty one years

Also I Give and Bequeath unto my said Daughter Sarah the sum of Twenty pounds of lawfull Brittish money to be received out of Goods and Chattels and paid likewise unto my Daughter Sarah as soon as she shall attain he full Age of Twenty one years

Also I give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Ann the Wife of John Herd of Plymouth Dock Butcher the sum of twenty Pounds of like Brittish money to be raised out of my goods and Chattels and to be paid unto her at the end of one year next after my decease

Also I Give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Catherine the wife of Richard Puddicombe of Totness Dealer and Chapman the Sum of Twenty Pounds of like Brittish money to be raised out of my Goods and Chattels and to be paid unto her also at the end of one year next after my Decease

Also I give and Bequeath unto my Grandson Hugh Bear the Son of Hugh Bear by my Daughter Eve (deceased) the sum of one Guinea of like Brittish money to be raised out of my Goods and Chattels and to be paid unto him likewise at the end of one year next after my decease

Also I Give and Bequeath unto my wife and my Son Isaac all my Ready money all moneys to me due and owing or that may be due and owing unto me at the time of my decease all my wearing Apparel All my Household Furniture All my Cattle corn Hay Implement in Husbandry with all and every other Article and thing of my Goods Chattels and Testament - any Estate of what nature or kind so ever not herein before by me given and Bequeathed I do hereby Give and Bequeath unto my Wife and my Son Isaac whom I nominate and appoint to be the Executrix and Executor of this my last will and Testament they Paying all my just Debts and Funeral Charges and Legacies aforesaid Hereby Revoking and making void all and every former Will and Wills by me at any time herebefore made and Executed I the said Richard Kingwill the Testator Do make and ordain this to be my last Will and testament Written on Three sheets of paper in witness whereof I have set my hand unto the two first sheets and my hand & seal unto the third and last sheet and have Published and declared this same to be my last Will and Testament this fourth day of August in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight Hundred and four

NB But as the field called broad park will be put into Wheat my Will and meaning is and I do hereby appoint that if I die before the intended crop of Wheat is taken from the ground and saved That then I give and Bequeath all the said Crop of Wheat unto my Executor and Executrix above and before by me appointed and it shall not go and be as a part of the said field but be taken as a part of my goods and Chattels Richard Kingwill
